Last night, I was talking to Isobel and Paul. We were talking about what songs would adequately describe us (it stemmed from a conversation I was having with Isobel about a truth or dare game I had with Eirik. He said Bohemian Rhapsody would be his pick. We were having this conversation in text and I laughed. I thought that was a pretentious choice – he said he was a very complicated person so he needed a complex song or something like that. We had just met and I thought he was pretty straight forward so I thought this song was a bit too postmodernist for him. I cringe at the thought now).
We listened to Panic! At the Disco’s version of the song. I quite enjoyed it.
Paul thought about it for a moment and said Karma Chameleon. I laughed and said, “no, what?” We listened to the lyrics and agreed.
For about an hour we debated mine. Nothing fit. We laughed when I remembered how Annette’s brother played The Beautiful People when I would come into Walgreen’s when I was a kid. But the song has nothing to do with me, I just wore a lot of Manson shirts back then. Song after song would fly by but they were all dark and even though I have been goth since ’95, let us face it yeah (thanks, Hege), I am pretty damn cheerful.
Then this was played:
and then stuck my tongue out and laughed.
it is what it is.
