We usually forget that we do have a choice. Some situations may be out of our control, but our thoughts are our own. We either let it break us or make us better.
I am understanding that I have an obsession with time. Time is an illusion, I know this. I have heard it said to me a dozen times. But I feel it passing by. I see the days marked off like a prison sentence. I know how many days have gone by since xyz have happened so I know this means war.
No, it is how I observe it.
The future does not exist.
“The future is not now real and there can be no definite facts of the matter about the future.” What is real is “the process by which future events are generated out of present events.”
Q: the distinction between past, present and future; why time appears to move in only one direction; and whether time is fundamental or emergent?
A: The directionality that we observe in the macroscopic world is very real: Teacups shatter but do not spontaneously reassemble; eggs can be scrambled but not unscrambled; the universe will be larger tomorrow than it is today.
“the pile of things under the rug gets bigger.”
